OVERVIEW:

Soaring High Productions is a faith-based talent production agency, established in January 2005. We solicit artists and personnel with the highest ethical, moral, technical and artistic standards of excellence. Our multiplex purpose includes presenting a unique style of theater committed to producing plays and programs that uphold human value, offer creativity, and promote literacy and education.

We are also committed to:

• Arousing public awareness to issue-oriented and sensitive topics (such as domestic violence, homelessness, etc.) that affect our community, churches, and our nation through the performing arts, literacy, and poetry.
  
  
• Celebrating the joys, strengths and diverse traditions of family and community.
  
  
• Exploring the spiritual dimension of life and illustrate it on stage through live performances.
  
  
• Making our performances accessible to the larger community regardless of economic status.
  
  
  

MISSION STATEMENT:

Our mission is to develop, educate, empower, promote, and manage aspiring performing artists, poets, playwrights, and authors, by providing a forum for them to network and display their gifts and talents via book publishing seminars and exposes, poetry exhibitions, and theatrical productions.

GOALS:

• Assemble a theatre troupe comprised of Biblically-based believers who will travel nationally and internationally for the furtherance of the gospel and to minister and fulfill the mission of Soaring High Productions through dramatic interpretation.
  
  
• Develop an educational program for aspiring performing artists with internships which will afford students the opportunity to work alongside theatre professionals.
  
  
• Assemble a team of playwrights to showcase and promote their work under the umbrella of Soaring High Productions.
  
  
• Conduct yearly book publishing seminars/workshops to provide novice and aspiring authors the resources to publish their manuscripts. Invite published authors to provide a roadmap to success.
  
  
• Host inspirational talent showcases for inner city and disadvantaged youth who would not be afforded the opportunity to display their talents and gifts through normal entertainment channels.
  
  
• Establish a poetry café so that local poets will have an opportunity to express and illustrate the spoken word through poetry recitals and "open mic" performances.

TARGET AUDIENCE:

Youth (All Ages):

We would like to train and instruct youth at an early age to minister and enjoy the lively arts to enhance their imagination, promote self-esteem, and teach valuable life lessons. We plan to offer specific programming for inner city youth and underprivileged children. According to a UCLA study, exposing children to theater programs at an early age helps them excel "50% more academically and personally" compared to non-participants. We will also have talent showcases and poetry exhibitions to provide them the opportunity to become comfortable on stage and to minister to the masses at an early age. For the Bible says, "And a little child shall lead them...!"

Adults (Men and Women):

We will develop an adult only (18 and over) traveling theater troupe that will minister throughout the United States and internationally. The only exemption to amend this policy to include children will be if a parent(s) or guardian(s) signs a waiver and agrees to accompany their child as we travel at the parent's/guardian's expense. For school age children, special arrangements have to be made by the parent(s)/guardian(s) for tutor(s) to accompany the student(s) at the parent's/guardian's expense, in the event that the engagement occurs during the school year.

We are also seeking aspiring authors to develop and provide assistance through book publishing seminars and workshops, as well as poets that will aspire and exhort us through the spoken word.

Theater Professionals:

We will enlist the assistance of theater professionals to train and provide students and aspiring performing artists the knowledge and experience to participate in various aspects of professional theater to offers quality training for tomorrow's artist. We will recruit instructors who are professionals, qualified in teaching and/or performing, who must understand our mission statement, values, objectives and goals.

College Interns:

We will also procure the assistance of college interns interested in acquiring credit by volunteering their services to assist with the instruction, production and inner-mechanics of manufacturing live performances.

Playwrights:

We will offer playwrights the opportunity to present and produce their scripts under the umbrella of Soaring High Productions. We will provide the performing artists and resources to bring their dreams to life on stage with the understanding that a portion of the proceeds will be utilized to further the mission and ministry of Soaring High Productions.

SUMMARY:

Soaring High Productions is the fulfillment of a dream by the president and CEO, Vickie Evans. The goal is to present to the nations-- quality, professional, inspiration, life-changing, heart-wrenching, Broadway-style productions, literary pieces and spoken Word illustrations that will make a difference and bring glory and honor to the Masterful Playwright, Poet, and Author of the greatest Book ever written-The Bible.
